GOD’s Dominant Theme

February 3, 2018

Our God is awesome! He’s good all the time! He’s amazing!!!

I am awed when He taps my shoulder…or whispers in my ear…or draws me a picture.  Ahhhhhhhh you know what I’m talking about. We talk about our conscience or our common sense or we think somehow that God is not who is letting us know or talking to us all the time. When we Seek Him…We find Him right? When we Knock…the door is opened. When we Ask …He answers.

As I’m beginning a new Day this February 3, 2018..my youngest son’s 37th birthday. I’m on a journey to discover the secret code of a life full of joy and laughter…a life completely satisfied and I’m sharing it with you. I don’t mean in the sweet by and by…one day someday. I mean the now and now…how to live this life of the Spirit…that is our goal. To love our God with all our heart, soul, and mind…and our neighbor as ourself. That’s the most important of all commands…2 in one…as we become ONE in John 17.

The most repeated command in the Bible will probably surprise you: Be happy.

God says over and over in His WORD to praise the Lord; to fear not; to rejoice and to give thanks.

Our Father has a lot to say about sin, sorrow, grief, pain, betrayal, failure, fear, horror, and wretchedness, but if you can believe it, God’s dominant theme is JOY

Our amazing God wants us to know the kind of HOPE that has the power to produce JOY in us even in painful places. God repeatedly commands us to be really, truly, deeply happy, but He tells us how!

The LORD equips us…He does not leave us or forsake us! Obedience is better than sacrifice. The JOY of the LORD is our strength!

David discovered this secret and broke out in a love song to God’s commands:

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;

The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.

Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.  (Psalm 19: 7-11)

Praise is the first step…the first wall of the building of JOY! Let’s SELAH …stop and meditate on the word PRAISE…let’s marinate in PRAISE awhile each day…

I Will Rejoice and  Glorious God

I will rejoice
I’m gonna lift my voice
And worship you
Glorify your name
Among the nations
Oh I will rejoice
In everything I will give thanks
To you, for you have been
My help and my salvation (2)

Every step I take
I feel your love around me
I cannot escape your grace
I cannot explain the
Blessings that surround me
I can only sing your praise

I have made a choice
To offer up thanksgiving
Lifting up your holy name
I will lift my voice
And come before you singing
With the sacrifice of praise

Glorious God

Oh, what a glorious God
Oh, what a powerful Savior
All creation cries out around You
Holy is the Lord
Oh, what a glorious God
Oh, what a powerful Savior
Mercy, grace and goodness surround you
Oh, what a glorious God
Oh, what a glorious God

You speak with a voice
Like a crashing cymbal
Oh, what a glorious God
You stretch forth Your hand
And the whole world trembles
Oh, what a glorious God

You rose from the dead
To redeem Your people
Oh, what a glorious God
You give us Your strength
And we soar like eagles
Oh, what a glorious God

The Lord has made known His salvation
His righteousness is shown to every nation
