July 4th!!! Woo hoo!!!! Celebrate!!! Family and friends!! Holiday!! Grilling out!! Fireworks!!!
We all love the 4th of July!!!
I was just thinking about what all the hoorah is about! It is about our independence!! Whose independence? The United States of America’s Independence! In fact, when that independence was declared, we became 13 separate intities. We were not one nation under God! We were Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia (the buffer state to S.C.) — all independent of England, our mother country.
I taught U.S. History — 8th-grade social studies — here in Gwinnett County, Georgia, for several years. I loved it! I grew so much in those years. Teaching about the great nation, America. God bless America!! Lord, America needs the prayer of all those who will pray for her. We are and have been for 235 years land of the free and the brave! We have been what our Statue of Liberty symbolizes with the words written on her. Give me your tired, your poor..your humbled masses yearning to breathe free…send these..the homeless..the tired..I lift my light beside the golden door! I do not remember all the words, but I know the freedom we have here!
Because of this freedom, we have been able to carry out the Great Commission in Matthew 28: 19-20. We have been able to put feet on the admonishment of our Lord: Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all tings that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Today, our military — just as the military throughout these 235 years — is guarding and keeping our Constitution. They are our heroes! The are our protectors! We must, during this holiday time with all the frills and chills, remember our soldiers.
Let me share what we pray over our military and our soldiers of the cross every day:
Lord, we lift up our military and all soldiers of the cross to You and pray a hedge of protection around their bodies, minds, and spirits, in Jesus’ Name. We declare a wall of fire around them, and we thank You for Your angels surrounding them. Illumine them, Lord! Let their light so shine before the enemy that the enemy sees their good works and glorifies our Father in Heaven. Heavenly Father, You are LORD of Heaven and earth, King of Kings, Most High God. You are the commander of the armies of Heaven, and Your are by the side of all the military in our tent. Your Word says that they have mighty angels accompanying them, fighting those who fight against them. Your shield of victory and safety in the blood of the LORD Jesus Christ defends them everywhere they go. We thank You for invisibility and immunity to spiritual attack underthe shelter of Your almighty wings. LORD Jesus, You have all authority in Heaven and on earth, and on the basis of their position as a joint-heir with Christ, we declare the cross between them and all evil spiritsthat would try to invade, infiltrate, harass, or ensnare them. Preserve them unbound and unharmed by the evil one. We petition Heaven to turn our troops into a real peacekeeping force by pouring out the glory of God through our men and women throughout the world. We declare them instruments of righteousness to defeat the plans of the devil. As children of the Most High God, we enforce the triumphant victory of our LORD Jesus Christ. Establish each slodier with the character of Jesus Christ. Make all soldiers sensitive to the Holy Spirit with quick conviction of sin and godly sorrow to repentence. Make all our military strong in You, and courageous, not having the spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound, disciplined mind. May all our soldiers know that they can do all things through Christ, who forms in them integrity, great wisdom, and keen discernment, as well as giving them strength. You, LORD, strengthen each one and help them. You uphold them with Your righteous right hand. Those waging war against our troops will be as nothing at all for You, LORD, take hold of each soldier’s right hand and say, Do not fear. I will help you.
We stand in the gap for the war-torn, devil-overrun land. We expect an overflowing of Your goodness and glory in the lives of those for whom we are praying. They will call on Your name and be saved! We thank You, Father, for the provision and protection of the families of our armed forces and all US civilians, and all our allies in Jesus’ Name. Preserve marriages, Lord. Cause the hearts of the parents to turn toward their children and the hearts of the children to turn toward their fathers and mothers. We plead the blood of Jesus over our troops and their families. We declare a support system to under gird, uplift, and edify all the families, especially those raising children alone. We pray comfort for the lonely and strength for the weary!
Join us in this prayer for our nation!
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen and Amen!Tweet
