Blessed by Beth Moore

I am re-posting from May 20, 2011:

I knew when I began this Bible Study – it was a God thing! I had already done the Believing God study with a group of wonderful ladies, all former teachers, that I’ve been studying the Word with for many years. We had done the study by cd instead of dvd. We had our books and the leader material, but we had cd’s so that we heard Beth, instead of seeing her.

One day, my good friend from high school shot me a message on fb, asking me if my church checked out Beth Moore materials to other churches. Someone had told her they did, and she was verifying with me. She asked if I knew who and how. Because I assisted on Wednesday nights with the ESL (English is the second language) class, and our leader was the Church Librarian, I needed only to email her for the information. After finding out the materials were available, and there was a choice of different teachings, my friend chose Believing God.

On the very day, that they were to begin that evening, she messaged me to thank me again, and I made a simple reply that I wished I could be there. She said, “Come on!” I did, and it has been fantastic. I did have to miss a night and will miss the next one, but I have been walking in what I’ve received so far. I’m here to share with you last night’s message. It is something else!!

Beth called this lesson, and it is the 6th one in the homework/notebook, the “Make it or break it lesson!” Mighty Warrior?? Or Not???

Hebrews 4: 12a (Amplified) says, The Word that God speaks is alive and full of power, making it active, operative, and effective…This whole Bible Study has been about us taking our promised land! This week’s study, is the 4th statement of pledge for us..God’s Word is alive and active in me.

I know people around me and even in this ministry, whether here near me, on the phone, or on fb, talking to friends, family, and friends of this ministry around the US and across the globe…people get tired or bored with me saying that the answer to all our problems is a prayer problem. I say, Pray the Word everyday! And, I have a tool, The Prayer Blanket, in order to do exactly that myself. I also have an electronic copy to send to any and all!

Beth says, “Take to heart the first and foremost equipping for success in the promised land is the Word in our mouths.” How exciting for me to hear this confirmation from another called of God Prayer Warrior – a writer and teacher, plodding along in a different place, much better known than me. She, along with Stormie Omartian, Beth Alves, and Germaine Copeland all pray the Word about everything! In order to do that, we must practice the Word of God – we must train in and on the Word!

In bold print, Beth has written How to Become Armed and Dangerous! She then says, We, the Church, the individual Believer, should be the devil’s worst nightmare.

She says, “Without exception, the most powerful built-in instrument God has given us is our mouth.” 2 Cor. 4:13b declares, …I believe, therefore, I speak. We know that we are made in the image of God. Beth reminds us, “God’s Word is impotent.” Impotent means, “All powerful!” Then, she says, “Our words are potent, which means powerful!” I’m reminded here, that Life and Death are in the power of the tongue. We can speak Life or Death to any circumstance.

Beth reminds us that if we use these God-given instruments inappropriately then we are effectively causing ourselves to not reach our promised land – the abundant life. We, God’s creation – and not only His creation but His Church – His Bride – His Family – His children – complain, criticize, judge, curse, and use our mouths inappropriately . If we all used them appropriately, we’d never be defeated, distressed, fearful, depressed, angry, bitter, disappointed, unforgiving, etc.

For reasons ultimately known to God alone, Beth says, God has ordained that spoken words carry a power, authority, and effectiveness that exceed words we simply think. Speak means to speak out – aloud – even boldly. We are not to speak the Word in our mind – our enemy, the devil, cannot read our mind.

Whispering is not boldness. I loved this, because when we pray the Prayer Blanket, we pray aloud! Beth speaks of accountability – the importance of speaking aloud with each other – confession – and agreement – being so important! We pray with several each morning. We encourage each other and others to join us as we declare the Word over the day – over our tent – speaking things that are not as though they are.

Jesus even declare to the devil, “It is written!” If He did that and He’s the firstfruit of many brethren – if we are His disciples (followers) – then we declare the Word (what is written!)
Logos is all the Word. Rhema is specific Word. We speak specific Word to each disease, and each circumstance! Glory! Just as our Jesus did and in us still does!

I am reminded at how many times I hear we are overcomers. Revelation speaks to the overcomer in each of the churches of Asia. How do we overcome? We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony! We are overcomers by what we speak!!

Again our 5-statement Pledge of Faith is:

1. God is who He says He is.
2. God can do what He says He can do.
3. I am who God says I am.
4. I can do all things through Christ.
5. God’s Word is alive and active in me!
(This is where the rubber meets the road).

I declare with Beth, my sister in Christ, and fellow Prayer Warrior:
We are Mighty Warriors! We believe all of the above! We believe (inhale), therefore, we speak (exhale). We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) and the word of our testimony! Thanks be to God!
Amen and Amen!

Until the next time….
